Beach House
A charming Summer house on the East Kent Coast
Working in collaboration with ‘Interior Design Geek’ (interiordesigngeek.com) as part of a full house renovation, this easy living garden is designed with ample space to entertain family & friends in the summer months.
For weekends outside.
This new garden includes the addition of an expansive dining terrace laid in clay pavers and natural Limestone paving.
‘Hoggin’/self-binding gravel paths were laid around the garden to enhance the coastal feel of the property and wildflowers were left to self-seed in it over time.
An informal, low maintenance coastal garden.
Native trees & shrubs were planted alongside bright perennials and coastal grasses.
A multi-stem Himalayan birch stands proudly in the corner of the garden, surrounded by Anemanthele lessoniana (Pheasant’s tail grass) and pops of pink and purple from Nepeta racemosa and Centranthus ruber.
This project is where I fell in love with Dwarf Pines, the Pinus mugo Mughus – and I swear, I will never look back.
For life outside.
A new outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower and changing hut for the beach were created, alongside the renovation of an existing outhouse into a separate guest suite.
Eat outside.
Rust Orange Eos outdoor furniture was selected to contrast with the new colour of the house, brick clay pavers and natural wood of the new Kitchen & Shower hut.
